Your Home Safety Score: A Room-by-Room Picture of What Needs Attention

Every room you check has 100 available points. What the check finds comes off. What you fix goes back on. It is a measure of the house, and it is never a measure of you.

One Number for Everything Hides the One Thing That Matters

A single blended score is easy to read and easy to be wrong about.

Average a bathroom with loose rugs and no grab bars against a tidy spare bedroom, and the result reads "looking good" while the hazard sits there untouched.

    So we stopped blending.

The Home Safety Score describes your home, room by room, and nothing else.

What you have done in the app is recorded separately, with no grade attached to it.

How the Home Safety Score Works

    Check a Room

Take one photo of one room. Home Safety Checks reads it and lists what it found, item by item: a loose rug, a missing grab bar, a dark stairway.

See What It Costs That Room

Each completed room starts with 100 available points, and every finding deducts from that room. A newly found hazard lowers the score because the hazard was already there.

Fix It, and the Room Recovers

Resolve a finding and those points come back to that room. Nothing is averaged across rooms, so a spotless kitchen never covers for an unchecked stairway.

Thrive Progress: A Separate Record of What You Have Done

    A Record, Not a Level

Thrive Progress is a plain record of actions taken in the app. No tiers, no ceiling, no denominator, because there is nothing here to complete.

    Kept Apart on Purpose

It is never added to your Home Safety Score. What you did and what your house needs are two different questions, and answering both with one number is how the old score went wrong.

    It Describes Actions, Not You

A longer record means more was logged. It does not mean you are healthier, safer, or doing better, and we will not tell you it does.

What This Number Does Not Do

It Is Not a Grade on You

The score describes a building. It is not an assessment of how you are doing, how independent you are, or how well you are aging.

It Is Not a Clinical Finding

A Home Safety Check is SeniorThrive's own read of the photo you upload. It is not a medical assessment and not a substitute for a professional home evaluation.

    It Is Never Blended

The Home Safety Score is not combined with your activity, your check-ins, or anything else into a single figure. There is no one overall number, on purpose.

What the Home Safety Score Is Good For

Tells you which room to look at first, instead of an overall grade

Goes down when a hazard is found, which is exactly the point

Room by room, so a safe kitchen never masks an unsafe bathroom

Every deduction names the specific item, not a vague risk level

Comes back up when the finding is resolved, not when you use the app

Shareable with the people in your Circle, if you choose to share it

Says nothing about your health or independence, and is not meant to
