Atkinson Hyperlegible Typography
Our entire site is set in Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface developed by the Braille Institute of America specifically to maximize character distinction and readability for low-vision readers.
Large Touch Targets (48px+)
Interactive buttons and controls are standardized to a minimum of 48px to 56px, exceeding standard web recommendations to support visitors with tremors, arthritis, or touch mobility needs.
Keyboard Navigation & Focus
All pages include a hidden “Skip to main content” shortcut for screen readers and keyboard users. Clear, high-contrast visual focus rings highlight active inputs and links without trap zones.
Readable Contrast & Motion Control
Text meets WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios, body text is set to 18px by default with a 14px floor, and all animations automatically honor your system’s prefers-reduced-motion preference.
Assistive Technology Compatibility
SeniorThrive is engineered to be compatible with common assistive technologies and modern browser environments, including:

Continuous Auditing & Improvement
Web accessibility is an ongoing effort. We review our site with automated accessibility tools (including axe-core and Google Lighthouse) as well as manual keyboard and screen-reader testing before major updates. Rather than relying on superficial third-party overlay widgets, we invest directly into clean, semantic code and accessible UI patterns.
