SeniorThrive brings older adults, families, and caregivers into one circle of support

    SeniorThrive

    Brian Fluhr

Founder and Chief Thriving Officer, SeniorThrive

Most AgeTech starts with the person. Brian starts with the house, because the house decides what happens next.

Brian spent twenty years building the data that tells America what its homes are worth. He founded SeniorThrive in 2023 on a simple observation: nearly every service built for older adults starts with the person and ignores the house. Yet the home decides most of what happens next. The stairs, the bathroom, the lighting, the neighbor who knows to check in. Families who plan around the home early stay in control. Families who wait end up reacting to a crisis. SeniorThrive exists to move people from the second group to the first. Brian’s shorthand for the whole idea: blame the house, not the person.

The platform gives older adults and their families one place to fix and maintain the home, support the person living in it, and keep the family Circle aligned without turning anyone into a patient or a project. It starts with a room-by-room Home Safety Check and a Home Safety Score, then builds a practical plan the whole family can act on. SeniorThrive won a Netty Award for Best Elderly Tech and was named a VC Select company in the 2026 FamTech.org Startup Showcase.

Before SeniorThrive, Brian held real estate data and marketing leadership roles at CoreLogic, First American, and Veros. He holds a BS in Business Administration and Marketing from CSU Chico and completed the Home Modifications program at the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology.

He lives in Laguna Woods, California, one of the largest 55-plus communities in the country, which doubles as his research lab, focus group, and daily reminder of who the work is for.

    In his words

Blame the house, not the person.

On why a fall, a missed pill, or a skipped shower is usually a design problem before it is a health problem

Age is not a place. Nobody wants to age in place. They want to stay in the home they love.

On the phrase the industry uses and the words families actually say

    Brian can speak to

    • The front line of aging. Why the home, not the hospital, decides how long independence lasts
    • Proactive care. What families can do this month that spares them a crisis next year
    • The whole person at home. Routines, purpose, connection, and safety as one plan
    • Family caregiving dynamics. Siblings, distance, and who actually makes the call
    • The conversation. How adult children start “how long can Mom stay here” before a fall forces it
    • Older adult empowerment. Staying in charge of your own home, schedule, and decisions
