    How I'm Feeling

How I'm Feeling — Help Guide

How I'm Feeling is your personal symptom journal — a simple way to record how you're feeling day to day, spot patterns over time, and share a clear picture of your health with your doctor, caregiver, or family.

    Finding How I'm Feeling

    1. Sign in to your SeniorThrive account.
    2. Look at the menu on the left side of the screen.
    3. Find the My Health section and click on it.
    4. Click How I'm Feeling. Your symptom journal will open.

    Understanding the Page

When you open How I'm Feeling, you will see Your Journal — a log of all the symptoms you have recorded. At the top right of the journal area you'll find tools for filtering, viewing trends, and sharing your data.

When you are just getting started, the journal will be empty with a prompt to log your first symptom. Once you start recording, your entries will appear here in order.

    How to Log a Symptom

    1. Click the blue + Log Symptom button near the top right of the page.
    2. A "Log a Symptom" form will open.

Step 1 — Choose Your Symptoms

Under "What are you feeling?", you will see a grid of common symptoms. Click on any that apply to you. You can select more than one at a time.

The available symptoms are: Pain, Fatigue, Dizziness, Nausea, Headache, Shortness of Breath, Anxiety, Sleep Issues, Muscle Weakness, Vision Changes, Memory Issues, Hearing Changes, Fever, and Other.

Each symptom you click will become highlighted to show it is selected.

Step 2 — Rate How Severe It Is

Under "How severe is it?", click a number from 1 to 5:

    • 1 = Mild (barely noticeable)
    • 2 = Somewhat uncomfortable
    • 3 = Moderate (noticeably affecting you)
    • 4 = Strong discomfort
    • 5 = Severe (very hard to manage)

The number 3 is selected by default — just change it if needed.

Step 3 — Describe Your Symptoms (Optional)

In the Description box, you can type any details in your own words. For example: "Headache started after lunch" or "Dizzy when I stood up quickly." This extra detail can be very helpful for your doctor.

Step 4 — Add More Details (Optional)

Click Add More Details (Optional) to expand a section with four additional questions. None of these are required, but the more you fill in, the easier it is to spot what may be causing your symptoms.

    Where do you feel it?

Click the dropdown and choose the area of your body. Options include: Abdomen, Back, Chest, Head, Joints, Limbs, Neck, and Other.

    How long did it last?

Type a number in the first box (for example: 30), then use the dropdown next to it to choose the unit: Minutes, Hours, or Days.

What do you think might have triggered this?

Click any tags that could be related to why the symptom appeared. Options include: Stress, Physical Activity, Weather Changes, Food, Medication, Sleep Changes, Environmental, and Other. You can select more than one.

Did anything make it feel better?

Click any actions that helped relieve the symptom. Options include: Rest, Medication, Exercise, Heat/Cold Therapy, Deep Breathing, Position Change, Hydration, and Other. You can select more than one.

Step 5 — Save Your Entry

The date and time of your entry is shown at the bottom of the form. When everything looks correct, click the blue Log Symptom button to save.

To exit without saving, click Cancel.

    Filtering Your Journal

Once you have logged several entries, you can use the filter tools to focus on specific symptoms or time periods.

    Filter by symptom type:

    1. Click the All Symptom Types dropdown on the left side of the journal toolbar.
    2. Choose a specific symptom (for example: Pain or Headache) to show only entries for that symptom.
    3. To go back to seeing everything, select All Symptom Types again.

    Filter by time period:

Click one of the three time buttons in the journal toolbar:

    • 7 days — shows entries from the past week
    • 30 days — shows entries from the past month
    • Custom — lets you type in a specific start and end date

    Viewing Symptom Trends

The Trends view shows a chart of your symptom patterns over time — useful for seeing whether symptoms are becoming more or less frequent.

    1. Click the Trends button in the journal toolbar.
    2. The Symptom Trends page will open, showing an Analysis section with a chart.
    3. Use the Time Range buttons (Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, or Custom) to adjust the time period shown.
    4. When you are done, click ← Back to Symptom Tracker to return to your journal.
Note: The Trends chart requires at least a few logged entries to show data. If it shows "No Data in Selected Range," try expanding the time range or logging some symptoms first.

    Sharing Your Symptom Report

You can share a summary of your symptoms with your doctor, caregiver, or family.

    1. Click the ··· (three dots) button at the far right of the journal toolbar.
    2. A small menu will appear with two options:
      • Share Report — sends your symptom data to people in your ThriveCircle
      • Export CSV — downloads your symptom data as a spreadsheet file (useful for bringing to a medical appointment)
    3. Click the option you want and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I log more than one symptom at a time?

Yes. When you open the Log a Symptom form, you can tap as many symptoms as apply. They will all be saved together in a single journal entry.

What if I want to log something that isn't on the list?

Select Other from the symptom grid. You can then describe what you are experiencing in the Description box.

Can I go back and change an entry I already saved?

Find the entry in Your Journal and click on it to open it. You should be able to edit the details from there.

Why should I fill in the trigger and "felt better" fields?

Over time, these details help you — and your doctor — understand what causes your symptoms and what helps. For example, if you notice that your headaches often follow "Poor sleep" as a trigger, that pattern becomes visible in your journal history.

Does my doctor see this automatically?

No — your journal is private by default. You can choose to share it using the Share Report option, or print/export it to bring to an appointment.

How do I get help if I'm stuck?

Click the Get Help button in the top right corner of any page, or click the small ? circle next to the "How I'm Feeling" heading for tips specific to this page.

For additional help, use the "Get Help" button at the top of any SeniorThrive page or just ask Avery in chat.
