    1. Sign in to your SeniorThrive account.
    2. Look at the menu on the left side of the screen.
    3. Find the My Health section and click on it.
    4. Click Health Info Finder. The page will open.

Two Ways to Find Health Information

You can get health information in two ways: by typing your own question, or by browsing the ready-made topic categories.

Option 1 — Ask Your Own Question

    1. Click inside the large search box in the middle of the page. It will say "Enter your health question..."
    2. Type your question in plain, everyday words. For example:
      • "What causes high blood pressure?"
      • "Is it safe to take ibuprofen every day?"
      • "What are the signs of diabetes?"
    3. Click the blue Get Answers button.
    4. Your results will appear on the screen within seconds.
Tip: You don't need to use medical terms. Just write your question the same way you would ask your doctor.

Option 2 — Browse Health Topics

If you're not sure what to search for, you can browse by category instead.

    1. Scroll down past the search bar to the Browse Health Topics section.
    2. You will see eight colour-coded category cards. Each card shows the category name and a few common topics within it:
      • Heart & Blood Pressure — High Blood Pressure, Heart Disease, Cholesterol, Circulation
      • Diabetes & Blood Sugar — Type 2 Diabetes, Blood Sugar, Insulin, Diabetic Diet
      • Bones & Joints — Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Joint Pain, Mobility
      • Brain & Memory — Memory Loss, Cognitive Health, Brain Exercises, Mental Wellness
      • Digestive Health — Constipation, Acid Reflux, Gut Health, Nutrition
      • Sleep & Energy — Sleep Disorders, Insomnia, Fatigue, Energy
      • Eye & Ear Health — Vision Problems, Cataracts, Hearing Loss, Glasses
      • Preventive Care — Screenings, Vaccinations, Checkups, Prevention
    3. Click on a category heading to get a full overview article on that topic.
    4. Or click on any of the smaller topic tags inside a card to go straight to information on that specific subject.

    Understanding Your Results

Once you search or click a topic, a results page will appear with several helpful sections.

At the top of the page you will see a bar that shows what you searched for and a New Search button if you'd like to start over.

    The main article includes:

    • A clear title and a brief explanation of where the information comes from (such as MedlinePlus from the National Library of Medicine)
    • Key Points to Remember — a short list of the most important facts
    • What You Can Do — practical steps you can take for your health
    • Questions to Ask Your Doctor — a ready-made list of questions to bring to your next appointment

At the bottom of the page you will also find:

    • Trusted Sources — links to the health organisations that provided the information, such as MedlinePlus (NIH) and the National Institutes of Health
    • Take Action with SeniorThrive — suggestions for related tools within the app
    • A Start a New Search button to easily search again

What You Can Do With Your Results

At the top of every results article, there are four buttons to help you use the information:

Save — saves the article so you can come back to it later.

Copy — copies the full article text so you can paste it into a message or document.

Print — sends the article to your printer so you can have a paper copy to bring to a doctor's appointment or share with a family member.

Email — sends the article by email. When you click Email, a small menu appears with four options:

    • Gmail — opens the article in a Gmail compose window
    • Outlook — opens the article in Outlook
    • Yahoo Mail — opens the article in Yahoo Mail
    • Default Email App — opens whatever email app is set up on your device

    Copying the Doctor's Questions

The "Questions to Ask Your Doctor" section is especially useful before a medical appointment.

    1. Scroll down in your results to the Questions to Ask Your Doctor section.
    2. To copy all the questions at once, click the Copy All button on the right side of that section.
    3. You can then paste the questions into a message or document, or simply read them on screen before your visit.

Why You Can Trust This Information

Click the "Why Trust This Information?" section below the search bar to see a brief explanation. The information in Health Info Finder is:

    • Trusted & Verified — every piece of information is reviewed by medical professionals and sourced from reputable health organisations.
    • Clear & Simple — written without medical jargon, so you get straightforward explanations and steps you can follow.
    • Built for You — designed specifically for older adults, taking into account the health concerns and needs that matter most to seniors.
Important: The Health Info Finder is for general health education only. Always talk to your doctor or healthcare provider before making any decisions about your care or treatment.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of questions can I ask?
Any health question you might have — about a condition, a symptom, a medication, a test, or a healthy habit. The more specific your question, the more focused the answer will be.

Where does the information come from?
Results are sourced from trusted organisations including MedlinePlus (run by the National Institutes of Health), the National Library of Medicine, and other reputable medical sources.

Can I save an article to read later?
Yes — click the Save button at the top of any results article. Saved articles can be accessed again from within the Health Info Finder.

What if my question doesn't return results?
Try rephrasing your question using simpler words, or try browsing the topic categories instead. You can also click "Start a New Search" at the bottom of the results page.

    Does this replace my doctor?
No. The Health Info Finder is a learning tool to help you understand your health and prepare for conversations with your doctor — it is not a substitute for personalised medical advice.

How do I get help if I'm stuck?
Click the Get Help button in the top right corner of any page, or click the small ? circle next to the "Health Info Finder" heading for tips specific to this page.

For additional help, use the "Get Help" button at the top of any SeniorThrive page or just chat with Avery.
